József Tóth (1940)

Graphic artist, photographer. From 1960, Tóth worked as an intern at MTI (Hungarian Wire Service), then from 1962 to 1970 he was a commercial photographer. At that time, he made his first associative commercials based on absurd humor. Since 1970, he works as a freelance photographer and image editor. From then on, he creates posters, which are important and accurate visual imprints of the era. His works have been published in several independent albums (Füles Mester mosolyalbuma [Füles Mester’s smile album], 2001; Füles Mester képeskönyve [Füles Mester’s album], 2002; Füles Mester panoptikuma [Füles Mester’s panopticon], 2005; Petőfi fényképezőgéppel [Petőfi with a camera], 2006).
