László Káldor Works Highlights

László Káldor (1905-1963)

Graphic artist, interior designer. He attends the schools of Béla Uitz and Artúr Podolini Volkmann, and then between 1924-1926 studies interior design and furniture design at the School of Applied Arts, as a student of Gyula Kaesz. From the 1920s, he continuously photographs. He produces collages from his photographs made in Budapest, supplemented with tempera drawings (Budapesti Napló [Budapest Diary], 1931). From the 1940s, he turns toward commercial graphic design, and he designs posters, illustrations, and also neon advertising. From time to time, he uses his own photos for his posters, amalgamating the photos of the objects with graphic design elements.
