Lenke Szilágyi (1959)
Photographer. In 1980, she graduated from the Secondary School of Fine and Applied Arts in Budapest. She has been participating in several solo and group exhibitions since 1981, in this year her first solo exhibition was held at the Bercsényi College in Budapest. She captured the Hungarian undergound scene of the 1980s in her photographs, took pictures of the clubs, concert venues and the figures of progressive art. Since 1985, Lenke Szilágyi worked as a stand photographer for the films of Miklós Jancsó, Zoltán Kamondy and Ildikó Szabó, and as a photographer for theatrical productions and archives. Her photographs have been published in several albums (Fotóbrancs, 1994; Látókép megállóhely, 2000; Fényképmoly, 2004; Single Lens, 2007), her works can be found in the collections of The New York Public Library, the Musée de la Photographie in Lausanne and the Hungarian Museum of Photography in Kecskemét, among others.
